It is thanks to our supporters’ donations that we can multiply our impact and implement projects in a more independent and effective way.

There are still so many unsustainable and unacceptable differences in the world. The gap of opportunities between the world’s “North and South” is still significant; therefore, we still are much in need of “bridges” connecting different cultures. CIES promotes active participation in civil society within the broader perspective of global citizenship. Our goal is to foster sustainable development processes, based on peace, protection of human rights, democracy, and dialogue between different cultures and religions. CIES fights every form of racism, discrimination, xenophobia, and social exclusion.

There is a growing need to educate (the word “education” comes from Latin e-ducere, which literally means “to bring out”), that is to support, give a voice and “bring out” the potential, vocation, and skills of individual and collective subjects, often “blocked” by vulnerability in many forms, affecting development and the ability to envision one’s future. Vulnerable categories of people have increasingly similar characteristics all over the world, and face similar difficulties in their daily life, due to globalisation and the financial crisis. An increasing number of people sees only walls, shut doors, and building a future for themselves seems impossible.

It is “with them” more than “for them” that we have implemented and continue implementing our projects, in Italy and abroad.

And it is “with you” that we want to continue doing so: together!
